I'm a big dreamer and have had more dreams than are possible to meet in this life, but I don't complain about it. All this accusing, shouting, moaning, and declaring foul play on someone because it doesn't benefit "me" is the most hideous sound that I have ever heard. Pointing fingers literally and figuratively is rude and ugly too. We are wasting our time trying to look around to find a target to hit when we could be doing something useful, like changing that pointed finger into an extended hand of friendship.
BTW: We don't have to agree on everything to be friends.
If you want to focus on what's unfair for people in this world, look to your neighbors (no, you don't have to look to Africa for this) and see how their children are struggling to get food in their stomachs. Watch those poor little ones who are neglected and turn to the bad influences of the street for support or have parents who neglect them because of drug addiction. See those who are trying and failing time and time again to get out of their drug addiction. How about those who are under the power of a dictating adult friend or family member and suffer abuse daily? Look at those parents struggling to keep shelter over their heads because they barely earn enough money at work. Look at those who are alone and need friends. Look at those ridiculed by their peers because they can't afford to dress nicely or that they are quiet. Look! It's everywhere. More to the point, don't just look. Do something. We don't have to rely on the government to do it for us. The power is in us. We see it in the people we encounter each day, not them. Our fellow human beings can benefit from that passionate drive more than anything else.
In a nutshell, if you feel the need to do some good in the world, stop whining and help someone. One act of kindness can produce mountains of impact on a person's life, even with a more valuable and lasting effect than the loudest protester.
I'd rather listen to a voice raised by laughter rather than pure orneriness. This is all possible, but again, we'd all have to be willing to work at it together. Sigh. Now that I've snapped it out...back to my world on Cloud 9...
