Writing and Seeing the First Hints of Fall

I wrote a poem a few days ago about something I'd been thinking about and shared it.  It is really interesting to me to see how people react to my poetry.  I know people enjoy it, but I always feel like it's flawed somehow.  My expressions don't seem to come out exactly as I think they should; however, people keep telling me how deep I am.  I have one lady in particular that keeps telling me every time she reads one that I have an understanding beyond my years.  I don't really feel that much wiser than anybody else.  In fact, a good majority of the time I feel like I'm more of a fool than a wise woman.

On another subject, it's come that time of year again.  The colors at the tops of the mountains are beginning to show.  Utah's colors begin to show in the mountains mid-August, so they are right on schedule.  The colors gradually move lower from mid-August until November when the last colors from the trees in the valleys fall.  Depending on which colors you love the most, the red hued trees in the mountains (the maples) often turn first, then the yellow hues (Aspens) follow and peak in October.  October is also when the valley trees begin to change.  I personally prefer Spring overall because I love the transition from Winter, but Fall is often very beautiful too.  There are times when the droughts have dulled the colors, but if the trees are caught in a good year, it can be quite spectacular.  Our mountains look like they've been covered in a blanket or quilt.

Here are some photos to give an idea.  The view is more amazing in person:
