The Love of Learning

Success is in the wind! In my last post, I mentioned a certain dilemma I was facing with some lengthy work I've been doing for several month, and I came up with some solution that seems to at least partially satisfy me and not make this entire work a waste. Half of the work involved me making some visual animation for those videos I planned on uploading into my YouTube channel. Some of those videos are very simple in appearance, but because of the little details I inserted in places, it took a lot of time. Because I had some reservations about uploading all that music at once without looking into whether it was appropriate or not. Thus, I went to my handy little bookmarked website for YouTube copyright free music and barely found enough tunes to support all of them. Wonders of wonders, they are all ready to be uploaded and should be so shortly. Most of them are Christmas themed, but I have one or two other favorites that aren't necessarily holiday themed, but I found awesome enough to upload. My favorite one is a picture I took of the moon, and I inserted the rays one by one around it. I'll insert a sample of it to this post.

So that's all resolved, but what about the music I did? Well, due to reservations (and little to no viewership), some of the ones I had or was planning on posting on YouTube were removed. It looks like at the moment some of them will have to stay private for the time being.

With this decision, do I think that all of that time and effort was a waste of time? No. I have some awesome animations I can share, and even though the music is on hold, putting it together actually taught me some new ways of doing things. My animations may still be a bit amateurish, but I've totally enjoyed playing around the (limited, but different) options I had. I don't think I'd mentioned it before on this blog, but those animations started when I was looking at a photo on my computer that was originally taken on my phone, and decided the black space on the sides was a waste of good space, so I went into my photo edits and made the amazing discovery of creating a whole artistic world around those photos. With some I got so overboard that you can barely see the original photo, but there was still a tremendous satisfaction in creating it. Then there was my sound program. I'd learned how to do so many things with that thing! Most of it had to do with mixing, but wow, that was sooooo fun! That's proof right there how much I love how to learn new things and get them to work.

And yet another feat accomplished that didn't result in a blow up from playing around too much.  That's an achievement, I'd say.

To sum it all up, even though not all of it is shared at this time, I ended up learning new skills that perhaps one day I'll be able to show everyone. I'm seriously looking into some other programs that will allow me to do more with my pictures and perhaps even movies that I can't do on these generic ones. It may be possible that one of those programs can help me with formatting this site better. In the meantime, enjoy a few of my samples that will absolutely be shared in more length on my channel.
