New Projects

I'm not a huge fan of making New Years resolutions, not because I'm against making plans or goal-making, but because I don't like the idea of limiting making those plans and goals to one time in the year. I think in our lives those plans and goals are available constantly and should be taken advantage of. It's a beautiful gift we have, being able to change and progress whenever we want and when we're ready. I have some plans and goals that I hope are still in the making, but because of my circumstances with not being able to have enough personal time to be able to work on them, those plans are slow moving. The one goal that may be considered applicable for a New Years resolution is that I'm going to make sure I take advantage of the January/winter slump and work on a few things to keep me going. A lot of those projects involve keeping up with my writing and perhaps make a few more videos/slideshows with my photo collection. I was reminded recently about a challenge a sibling gave me a while ago about writing some stories or experiences about growing up with a disabled brother. I think he felt I was the most qualified for it due to the time I've spent taking care of him and being able to express myself well in writing. I've already started a little something on that recently. We'll see how the progress goes on it.

There's absolutely no reason for me to be bored this January. I have these, and no doubt other things that I'm not thinking about at the moment that can be worked on. I'm hoping to get something accomplished before the end of the month, and in truth being accomplished isn't synonymous with completed. Showing progress is an accomplishment, so as long as something has progressed, I've definitely accomplished something. Hopefully, completion will follow and not be dropped. One step forward is another couple of inches closer to that moment.

Here's to progress!

This guy cracks me up. 😁
