Assuming they didn't want people loitering around, I moved on quickly and began going on attractions. I passed by the Animation Building and saw people going inside and made a quick note to check that out soon. Monster's Inc. was close by, and it was practically a walk on! What a great start to my day! After that, I went through the Marvel area, but I rarely spend a lot of time there. I've never been a big fan of action characters and heroes. Some I tolerate, but I'm just not a huge fan. This isn't a fault of Disney's. I've never enjoyed them, even as a child. Their stories are a bit too shallow and uninteresting to me. I like stories that deeply stimulate my mind and imagination--things that give me something to think about or relate to. Action stuff just doesn't cut it for me. I went to Soarin' and it ended up breaking down while I was in line, So off to Pixar Pier it was, and I went into Toy Story Midway Mania, which was about a twenty-five-to-thirty-minute wait, but not bad, and I got a better score than I thought I would, though still on record as nothing special. I'll try to keep the boring stuff to a minimum here. I'll just say that I was able to get on every single ride there within fifteen to twenty minutes and even did a second round of The Little Mermaid ride. But after all of that, I needed to rest for a little, so I found my way back to the Animation Building and happily went in to listen to the music and watch the art on the screens.
I cannot tell you how much I love that place! Some of my favorite songs are played, lots of drawings from the storyboards and stills are posted everywhere of movies, new and old, and at most times the environment is calm and relaxing, no matter the number of people who have joined me in taking refuge there, whether from rain or sun. Some people branch off into the activities offered, but this time both the meet and greet with the FROZEN sisters and the Sorcerer's Academy were still closed for another day. Both of those are places I visit the most, and I'd already done CRUSH so it was just the big room for me this time. No problem whatsoever! I could sit there for a long time. As long as that room's open, I'm satisfied. I went to see the little Green Army Men show, watched some people get soaked by the geysers and Grizzly River Run, grabbed a lunch at Smokejumper's Grill (which was amazing by-the-way, but I guess anything tastes great when you're hungry), and reclaimed my seat on Soarin' Over the World next door. That was one of the first rides I'd been on when everyone cheered after experiencing it and wished that was more common. I love it when people enjoy are enjoying themselves.
Cars Land was the next object of focus, but people with think I'm speaking blasphemy when I say this, but I skipped Radiator Springs! I'd planned on watching the World of Color since I hadn't seen it for a while, so I just didn't have the time to do everything. I went on Luigi's and found myself amused by the cast member running the ride, because he was lip syncing to all of the spiel. I guess I'm just used to the wanting to be somewhere else look I saw a lot of while growing up and going to the local amusement park. After that, I decided to stick around to see the lighting ceremony since sunset was approaching. Just as I was getting up to watch the lights go on, I got distracted by a group of cast members gathering under the blinking light. I knew something was up, so I went closer to see what was going on. I guess in that area, the cast members do a circle dance and anyone who wants to join in can. I'm way too reserved to feel comfortable with that, so I enjoyed watching all of those who joined in. That was fun to watch.
The call for World of Color was really early, and I tried to stick around as much as I could, but decided I better get over there. It was a bit of a wait, so I sat down for a while and after a while entertained myself by taking a few pictures and videos. World of Color: One I wasn't sure how I'd like it, because there were few stories in it that I really liked, but the show was much better in person than it was on video (people have these things all over YouTube), and I simply enjoy the fountain light show itself. I wouldn't necessarily need stories, just those colored fountains, and I'd be happy.
That ended my evening and my last day at California Adventure. One more day was left for Disneyland itself in all its 70th birthday glory!
