Dear Mr. Nobody,
I hear you've been feeling down. I'm sorry. I hope you feel better soon.
I was just thinking of the days long ago when you were the only one who would play with me during school lunch. You were the only friend I had that year. Oh, the memories!
I remember your dreams, just like mine, of being extraordinarily talented. All the world was going to know us, remember? We were going to be the shining pillars among the crowds. Everyone would want to be like us, look at us (for our stunning beauty) and never get enough of us.
And then life happened.
Through years of fighting and trying, continuous heartbreaks broke us down, caused us to question ourselves, and even led us into a bitter sample of depression. So many others around seemed so successful in their almost natural-born efforts and we were lucky if we scraped by, but we made it. If I have learned nothing else out of these struggles, this one thing makes them worth it: they have taken me to depths of myself that I would have never known otherwise. Through them, I have discovered a depth of feeling, a strength to keep trying and the courage to keep going. It was not all done in vain.
You feel alone right now, a no one, a mere grain of beach sand in this world. and perhaps you are correct. To the world, you mean nothing, but may I remind you as your friend that even though the world may not even know of your existence, I know of it. Your family and other friends know of it. To us, you are not a no one! You are the world to us!
I wish we all could open our eyes and see that we don't have to be celebrities to mean something in this world. A good deed a day to a loved one or someone we see each day will suffice. You never know how beautiful those small things you do affect people, and for some it can be life changing. Your name may never be in the bright lights or ever mentioned in the media, but you are just as important. We need you! We want you! You are loved (whether you know it or not)!
Please don't underestimate your power.
Love, Me.
