Not Off the Hook

Remember some time ago I mentioned that I rewrote words to "Let It Go" in commemoration to reaching a goal at work?  I also mentioned they wanted me to sing it.  Yep, that's right.  I got away with it that day, but they're not forgetting about it.  Word to the wise: if you don't want your boss to humiliate you in front of a group of people, don't change to words to a popular song so that it is work oriented.  Yes, I did say a whole group of people.  Instead of singing in front of say, ten people, I know have to sing in front of the whole business!  Well, I've done it before.  I'll survive.

Actually, I don't really mind being in front of a whole group of people.  It's me I have issues with...my singing voice.  I've mentioned the struggle before.

Anyway, I mentioned that I'd share the words and again, this is oriented toward the medical profession and the law passed within the last year or so to have all medical information changed to electronic records.

This is what happens to me when humor my and creativity go awry. ;)

"Let Them Go"

The dust is thick on the shelf tonight
Not a chart note to be seen
A kingdom of busy scanning
And it looks like I'm the queen

The scanner's whirling like the patient flow aside
Couldn't let them sit, heaven knows I tried...

Don't let them go, the Doc's must see
Keep the old charts and always leave them be
Just scan, don't sort, don't let them go
Well, there they go!

Let them go! Let them go!
Can't hold 'em back anymore
Let them go! Let them go!
Take away and close the door

I don't care
That they're going away
Let the charts move on...
The space never bothered me anyway

It's funny how this project
Was anything but small
And the work that once controlled me
Can't burden me at all!

It's time to look for things to do
And dance and sing the whole day through
No lists, no pulls, no cuts for me!
I'm free!

Let them go! Let them go!
It's paperless by and by
Let them go! Let them go!
Just watch that scanner fly!

Here I stand
And here I'll scan
Let them all move on

I scan in mighty speed all notes that can be found
My head is spiraling and seeing paper all around!
And even though now more used paper's shred and cast,
They're never coming back,
The past is in the past!

Let them go! Let them go!
And the the work, it will build on
Let them go! Let them go!
The perfect system's gone!

Here I stand
As I rule the day!
Let the charts move on!
The space never bothered me anyway
