A Happy Thanksgiving

A wonderful week.  I decided to dress a little sparkly to work on Wednesday in celebration of Thanksgiving.  I wore a black sparkly shirt and some pants that are a little more form fitting (kind of leggings, but loose ones).  I got a lot of compliments on that.  I'm glad to know that I get it right sometimes.

As usually there was more than needed for the Thanksgiving feast.  I didn't even try everything--I try to limit what I take--and got so full that I barely could eat the pies later that evening, but it was really fun.  I was helping set out the pies and saw one that had cracked so perfectly down the middle I couldn't help but dub it the Harry Potter pie.  I mentioned it to others and everyone seems to agree with me.  Someone even said they thought there was sort of a magic look to it.  Fortunately, no one who consumed it has had any curse placed upon him or her.

What do you do when you mix a computer, a pair of good computer speakers, a projector, and a white tablecloth?  You get a home-made movie theater!  My brother came to visit and they wanted to watch the movie in another room besides the one the television was in.  We hung a white table cloth we used earlier on the wall and projected the movie.  It was a tradition for his family to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" on Thanksgiving and it's a favorite of mine as well.  They were amazed to see the little details that they could not see on a regular television.  No need to go to the movie theater here.

We have a large flock of birds flying around our house this week.  I'm not sure which kind because they are constantly moving from one place to another.  The other day they were flying from our yard to the power lines and even right now as I look through my window I'm seeing them flying everywhere in the air...and I'm hearing them on the roof.  There has to be hundreds of them.  It's an amazing sight.  I love it.
One more thing: I woke up this morning in the dark as usual, but noticed a pinkish glow coming from the window.  I got up to look out of it and the color looked like it does when there is snow in the air reflecting the glow from the street lights.  I didn't think it was supposed to snow today, but I was absolutely delighted when I came downstairs and saw the white flakes and the white ground.  There wasn't a lot of accumulation, but just enough to make me happy.  A lot of people dread it because of having to travel through it and I don't like doing that much either; however, it still makes me happy.  I find fresh fallen snow to be absolutely beautiful and inspiring.  It is now officially Christmas time, my favorite time of the year.  Bring it on!
