Beginnings

Interesting how the end of a so-called era ended for me at the end of August and a new one is beginning for me now in September.  I ponder over what I have been through, and already I'm seeing the benefits of what has passed.  The most clear improvement is evident with the needs of the family.

I have thought that the issues that were going on inside of my family may have also contributed to the pressure and stress I was trying to bear while working.  Taking care of my disabled brother was never an issue as we've learned to deal with him throughout his whole lifetime, but having a parent who is increasingly in need of assistance has complicated things.  Trying to juggle between the two of them has been a trick at times.

We looked into getting assistance from outside sources, but we didn't quite meet the requirements needed for most of the places, and the one we tried was not satisfactory, so here we were, my sister and I mostly, trying to juggle between watching out for them and working.  It was a heavy load on both of us.

But since I am now available, my stress levels have decreased significantly, and my sister has been able to keep a regular work schedule.  Everyone's a lot happier and no one has had problems for the most part.  My recovery is in full swing, and here's to hoping for something more flexible to allow me to be around more often.

I'm happy.  I'm not angry at anyone for what happened.  I've basically moved on now.  Time to make another step into the adventure we call life.
