Finding Peace in the Chaos

In my house, I am the only one not at high risk for the corona virus.  This past week has been an interesting whirlwind of news going on around the country, and in my particular state, the number of cases have more than tripled.  I was scheduled to go to an opera last weekend for a break from home, but having one member of the family in the vulnerable category plus the requests from the government to close all large public gatherings kept that from happening.  I guess I'll have to take more time to visit the quiet park only a few minutes away from home.

It's interesting to watch people's reactions to all of this.  Some people aren't taking it seriously, because we're being told it's only a small part of the population who will get severe symptoms.  Some people are going to the other extreme and going out to buy out all of the supplies in the stores.  Toilet paper shortage is a big joke these days.  From what we were sent through last week, I can understand a little why the chaotic response.  Some people's worlds just got turned upside down.  My world hasn't really changed a lot, except that since I'm living with high risk people, I and those who come visit have to be extra vigilant that we're not spreading any sicknesses to them.

I know there has to be enough seriousness with the issue since there are so many closures, but regarding the whole situation, I feel very much at peace with it all.  How bad or long the situation will be, I don't know, but I'm quite calm about it.  It may become a challenge for whatever circumstance, but we'll make it.

I'm glad I know how to entertain myself.
