Anyway, being a reserved person who's never been trained to dance, yet always has some part of my being dancing makes for an interesting outcome. I'm a mix of slight grace and a good chunk of awkward along with a few other things, and it all comes out funny looking, but oh well. I always loved making people laugh. I've managed to do it a time or two with my little dances. When it comes to doing solo polka dances down hallways and trying to do the Brigadoon wedding dance in fast motion/speed, I've been able to do those in all their wondrous hilarious glory.
My mom told me once that she wished she could have put me in dance classes when I was younger. That wasn't possible as those who know my background know. I've actually benefitted from being on the younger end of the family, because my parents were able to put me in a theatre program and a choir program for a few years when I was a little older. I did my own dancing though, and I've always loved it, but I didn't realize how much until my dad made some comment the other day I'd never heard before (actually as a response to one of my impromptu dance moves with my mom's glitzy hat). He said that I'd been dancing since I learned to walk. Makes sense.
I've often heard people say that they have to have music on to help them study or work on a project. I suppose it depends on what kind of project it is, but it's almost certain that if I'm listening to music, I better be doing something that doesn't require my mind, because honestly if music's playing, it practically possesses me, and I'm more caught up more in the music than I am the work. If I'm completely engrossed in the music, I've got to either sing or dance to it, no questions asked. Most times it's only in my mind, but there are times it actually reaches to the level of physical expression. One thing you can count on though. If there's music around, I'm either singing or dancing, or both, whether it's visible to anyone or not.
