You know by my recent posts (including the other one I did today) that I'm quite refreshed from taking off for a week and returning ready to do the normal routine again. Once again, I'm running between family and doing the daily needed assistance. It's been a lot easier to handle since I took that time off. Yes, life has returned back to normal in general, with the exception of some sad news we received last week from our friend and family contacts.
We found out that a good neighbor friend has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and has been given 2-6 months to live. This particular neighbor has a sweet personality. She sent me a card just a month or two ago since she was going through her things, and she found a photo with me in it. Guess I'm not throwing that away. A few days later, my aunt called to let my mom know that my sweet aunt (wife to my uncle her brother) was also diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We weren't told any life span on her, but from the sound of it, she's going through a really rough treatment right now. If I can get myself a minute to get my brain in the right mode, I want to write a poem for these two ladies; hopefully, I can get them done soon enough for them to read.
Pair those things up with the national news last week, and it's been a bit of a week for some serious life situations, so please excuse me if I've been hanging on too much on the vacation/humor posts. They've helped me keep in balance.
All I can say now is how grateful I am to have had these people in my life. They've been so good to me. I really have been fortunate in the people I've had in my life, and at times like this it brings that awareness closer to my attention. The majority of people I've met have been a blessing to me in one way or another, whether it was for a lifetime or for just a moment or two.
Life is good.
Thank you.
