The Unexpected Adventurous Day

The day was a travel day, and I spend the morning wandering around, making sure all of my things were packed away into the places they needed to go. Originally, it was planned to take the light rail up to the train station, but plans were changed, and it was decided it would be much better to drive up to the station instead.

That gave my uncle plenty of time to drive around the territory and show me one of the places he used to work when he first moved there. It was some small military school on the beach. We saw several people parking and walking those narrow streets to go down to the beach. It was a fun little side-trip, but I had to be up to the station at about a quarter after noon, so we headed back. When we got there, I'm certain it was only a five minute wait, before the sign on the board announced that all of the trains were delaying due to some trespassing incident. Having experience back home, most of the time that sort of message pops up, it meant a collision with either a person or a vehicle, and I know how long and exhausting those delays can get. I don't get mad at these sudden changes, because I know there's always a way to get where I need if I really need to.

Plot twist! I ended up being taken the whole way up to my hotel in Anaheim by my uncle. He didn't mind doing it, and I'm thankful that he was willing to do that. We ended up checking in an hour early (fortunately, they had a room ready), and went off to get some lunch, which was a little Burger/Korean food place close by, and the food was actually quite good.

He left me to do my thing. I probably spent maybe a half hour getting set up in the room, and immediately went on over to the parks for the evening. I didn't have a lot of activity planned for that day, because I expected to be a little tired from travel, but I ended up having more energy than I expected. I went in to look at the 100th anniversary display (for the Disney company) and ended up having to stay in there for a little while, because the parade was going on outside, and anyone who's been there knows how crazy the trafficking can get while the big activities are going on at Main Street.

As soon as I was able to get out of the area, I headed straight to Galaxy's Edge, thinking I needed to explore that area a little, because I haven't spend a lot of time there. I wandered around for a few minutes, and decided to jump on to the Rise of the Resistance ride, since I'd never experienced it. I must have hit it at a good time, because the wait wasn't bad at all. I'm not a big fan of the newer movies, but this ride was fun! I'm glad I finally got myself to go on it. Now, if I could get my act together about going on the Millennium Falcon! I have a tendency to hesitate with new things, so it takes some time for me to talk myself into it, but you'll find out later that in this particular adventure that I did try to do several things I wouldn't do before.

I took a break from the land, and headed over to check out the decorations a Buena Vista Street in DCA. I may have walked through a few other lands just for a stroll, but I mainly stuck around that area to look at the lights and decorations. I sat for a while near the headless horseman, watching it, and the other people trying to get pictures, and thought the lights were fun. I'm not really sure I got what I wanted for photos, but I haven't thoroughly reviewed them yet.

I returned back to Galaxy's Edge for the evening, with the specific plans of watching the fireworks from there. I'm weird about Halloween things. I've said plenty of times before that it was my least favorite holiday. I want to clarify that though it isn't my favorite, I'm not anti-Halloween. I don't object to everything about it. It's something I don't get excited about; thus the reason I decided to go to the one place that shows the part of the show I want to see, and I absolutely loved it! I'm not sure if my recording picked it up, but I couldn't help, but repeatedly say over and over cool or awesome that experience was for me. I was so happy to be there, and I apparently picked the best spot, because I kept seeing the CMs telling others where the best spots were, and that was where I was. The best part of it was that the crowd was small--no anxiety issues related to crowds here. In fact, I was sitting! Beautiful moment right there! I left the park so happy that night!

I have said it mentioned by social media influencers that Disneyland Halloween is not recommended for those who don't like the holiday, and I'm here to beg to differ. There were plenty of things to do that weren't engrossed in the Halloween theme, and I'll likely discuss them here as I tell my adventures.
