New Activities

You can all breathe more easily. This isn't going to be another passionate exclamation, at least in the manner I have been doing within the recent posts. I'm not sure I can claim myself entirely free from passion in my writing in general, because that's my expressive zone.

These past few weeks have been busy. Easter is coming, and so more opportunities have been offered for me to seize. Our church has been doing a program the past few years. When I first moved here, they basically did nothing special, and that made me sad. Where I grew up, Easter was nearly as big of a production as Christmas, and I loved it! In this area, there were choir conductors who didn't want to bother with much besides Christmas. The reason behind the change may have been from the leadership's request that we make more effort in remembering the true meaning of Easter and putting more of an emphasis on it than we have done in the past. So, yes, I'm doing some more choral music. We've been practicing two songs, one entirely in A Cappella. That gets to be a challenge for some of those who are less experienced, but I think we're getting there.

There's another who's in charge of music over the church in our area, and she's so enthusiastic that I love it! I really love being around people who have that enthusiasm, because I catch it. She's really going all out! She planned a fireside to be held on Palm Sunday with an evening full of music with an art display to celebrate Easter. I'm singing a sing in a choir for that as well, and it's also A Cappella. It's a beautiful song! I'm excited!

And so, life continues....
