Rainy Day

The forecast for Wednesday was rain.  Not being there before, I wasn't sure about how much to expect, so I packed a few extra things, and it turned out to be a good thing.  When I went out into Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure, the rain wasn't too bad, but within an hour or so it was pouring hard.  It was exciting actually, but then I started realizing my bag wasn't waterproof and was getting wet.  I went on a few rides, but as everyone else did it seemed, I took refuge in the Animation Academy.  I really enjoy watching the animation screens around the room and watched them for a while until I decided to check out the Sorcerer's Workshop.

I hadn't seen it before, so it seemed like the thing to do.  I went down and looked at all the little instruments they displayed for us to make animated Disney characters move.  I also went into the Beast's Library and checked out which character I matched the most on their list.  It came up with Sally in Cars.  Not quite sure about that, but I was sure having fun seeing what kind of silly pictures they were taking.  If I was alone in there, it would have been super fun, because I can get quite goofy and I crack myself up all the time with it.  I should have thought of that at the time, except the others would be wondering what that lady was doing giggling over there in the corner.  I watched the rose petals falling, and happened to begin recording a video just as it transformed--.  Great timing!

I was interested in doing the character meet and greet with Anna and Elsa, but because it was raining so much outside, everyone else had the same thought, so I held that off for another day.

I thought the rain was supposed to subside after the morning.  I went back to my hotel room to dry off and recharge my phone, but I couldn't resist sitting out on my balcony and listening to the rain.  The sound is so calming, and soon I was getting anxious to go out into it again.  I love being out in the rain.  It's so refreshing.  My phone was taking forever, but as soon as it was charged, I was up and out of there.  I spent a lot of time wandering around the grounds outside at the hotel.  When I returned to Disneyland later, it started pouring again while I was out.  It was glorious.

I made it to Toontown to see the fun lights there before the rain got really bad.  I believe I was wandering over to Galaxy Edge when the rain got heavy.  I'm not entirely interested in the Star Wars things, but seeing it all with rain put a twist on it that I found fascinating.  Again, I would have loved to stay out, but my bag was totally soaked again, and my pants were getting really wet, so I had to leave.  By the time I got to my hotel room, my whole front that was unprotected by my raincoat were wonderfully soaked.  Fortunately, I brought extra things to change into, so I wasn't wet all night.  Everything had to be laid out to dry.
Rain soaked pants.

Adventure never gets dull!
