Liking Your Own Posts?

I haven't seen it happen for a while, but I've always wondered about one particular mystery of social media functions. What is the point of being able to like your own posts? It only seems logical in my mind that one main reason you share something is because you like it. So, are we liking our own things for a secure backup, to get someone to see your post more frequently, or an expression that you don't just like it, but you RE-E-E-E-ALLY like it. In the latter case, isn't that what the heart's for? And if we start clicking our own hearts, does it bring that on to a much grander scale?

Starting to overthink things here....

But then again, I'm also guilty of doing things similar, though perhaps in my version it would be more like doing something to crack myself up, because who knows my sense of humor better than, well, me? So, if you see me tucked off in a dark corner by myself laughing like a maniac, that has nothing to do with insanity (on second thought...).

So continue to like, love, or laugh at your own things if you like. I usually skip over those as much as I can, but be certain if I notice there's bound to be a brief passing mental thought or discussion about the point of it all.
