Day of Departure

I had a few last thoughts to put in here. I wasn't scheduled to leave until the afternoon, so I spent the morning wandering for a few minutes at Downtown Disney and the Grand Californian Hotel. The latter has always been my place of retreat when not at the parks, and I had to pay it a visit. I spent a good portion of it enjoying the fireplace and doing some exploring. There are places I know that exist that I haven't figured out how to get to, but this time around it was still unsuccessful as the others. I'm wondering if they are closed off areas exclusive to certain guests. I'm respectful of business wishes if they don't want me in certain places.

It was actually a quite relaxing day. I had to go through security twice going between that hotel and my hotel where my luggage was. The security guard at the Grand for some reason had to ask me to make sure I wasn't bringing any poisoned apples into the park. I told him not today, and he asked about a few other things, explaining that the evil queen doesn't like competition. I didn't tell him, but it's a little late for that warning, something like a few years too late. I'm not sure it helped a lot that I've now been given the honorary title of  "trespasser" to the list. Not sure exactly if that was me she was referring to when I heard it, because I'd already passed her and couldn't see if someone else was following me (those I knew who were behind me were far enough behind that I don't think it was intended for them), but it was a little bit of a sly maneuver I did, so I earned the title. I'm such a trouble maker. It's definitely a bit late to tell me not to cross her. More details on both the interaction and the secretive maneuver are told on a later post: https://www.quietlifeobservations.com/2022/05/impish.html

Getting to the airport was extremely smooth, and flying out was a little bit of a fiasco, because I got gates confused and had to rush to the plane before it left me, but there were things that could have been worse. I still arrived home safely that night, but feeling so tired and exhausted. Simply said everyone was happy that I was back, and I wasn't to pick up my regular duties until the morning so I could rest.

Back to the grindstone and back to life, but it's all good. As expected, I experienced some different things this time around, but I had some great experiences despite the fact that I didn't get everything I wanted. That's how life rolls in general anyway. Sometimes other options are as beneficial or better than the original plans.

Life is good.
